In Saransk, all objects of the 2018 World Cup flew around on a helicopter with the icon of the Virgin

With the support of the Ministry of Defense, the priests of the Saransk diocese flew around the main sports facilities of the Mordovian capital with the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God 'Sign', writes the republican edition of the newspaper Izvestia. The procession was blessed by Metropolitan Zinovy of Saransk and Mordovia. The helicopter with the icon flew around all the main venues of the World Championship in Saransk, primarily the 45,000-seat stadium Mordovia Arena. The procession lasted half an hour. The icon is permanently kept in the St. Feodorovsky Cathedral of the city.
