In St. Petersburg, a church was built on the site of the blown up Cathedral

В Санкт-Петербурге построили церковь на месте взорванного Собора
According to Rosbalt-Petersburg, a new church in the name of the All-Merciful Savior was consecrated in the northern capital. It is located on Sennaya Square - where the Assumption Cathedral stood until 1961, later blown up.

And even before the cathedral, in the first half of the 18th century, there was a small church on this place. The features of the architecture of that very era, called the Peter's Baroque, have a new Spassky Church. The first divine service has already taken place in a tiny, one hundred square meter church. Construction and finishing work in the temple is still ongoing. It is necessary to place memorial plaques on its stages, complete work on the altar and baptismal room, install floor icon stands for icons, and complete painting. The Church of the All-Merciful Savior was created as a result of the reconstruction and expansion of the memorial chapel erected on Sennaya Square in memory of the blown-up Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos, which was popularly called the 'Savior on the Sennaya'. By the way, the church that stood on this place in the 18th century was also called the Spasskaya - the newly-built church received the same name. In the design of the new temple, its creators have implemented an interesting engineering solution based on an air heat pump. Thanks to the heating system of the Church of the Savior - floor water heating and hot water supply - the church will be warm even when the temperature outside will drop to minus 27 degrees Celsius.
