In the capital of Syria, in the representation of the Russian Orthodox Church at the Antiochian Orthodox Church, the first sacrament of marriage took place since 2011. According to REGNUM, it was performed by the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia under the Patriarch of Great Antioch and the whole East, Abbot Arseny (Sokolov). Russian specialists Dmitry and Olga, who have lived together for more than thirty years, and now work in Syria, were united by ties of church marriage. At the end of the wedding, the Father Superior wished the spouses God's help and success in their labors. Recall that the representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Syria suspended its work at the beginning of the civil war in the country, which began in 2011 - and resumed it only this year. On November 4, at the representative office of the Russian Orthodox Church in Damascus, the first divine liturgy in seven years was celebrated, for which Orthodox believers living in the capital of Syria prayed, and now the sacrament of wedding.
