In Russia, the Royal Passion-Bearers are prayerfully remembered

В России молитвенно вспоминают Царственных Страстотерпцев
On July 17, the Russian Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers - the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II Romanov, who was killed by the atheists in 1918.

On this day, memorial services are held in Orthodox churches in Russia. In Yekaterinburg, the city where the terrible event took place, on the night of July 17, a night liturgy was held at the Church on the Blood, which was built on the site of the death of the Royal Passion-Bearers. People from all over the country and even from abroad came here to pray at the service. At the end of the liturgy, the faithful walked 24 kilometers in a procession with the cross to Ganina's pit - the place where the bodies of the murdered were taken after the execution. The events of July 17 are the culmination of the days of memory of the Royal Passion-bearers, who, according to the already established tradition, begin to be remembered several days earlier. So in Petrozavodsk on Sunday, July 14, in remembrance of the royal family, there was a procession from the church of the Great Martyr Panteleimon the Healer to Kirov Square. On the way, the participants made several stops, during each of which they offered up intense prayers to the holy Royal Passion-bearers.
