In the Ryazan region, believers themselves took up the restoration of the temple

В Рязанской области верующие сами взялись за восстановление храма
Unfortunately, ancient temples, chapels, monasteries are often destroyed before the state or the Church is engaged in their restoration. To prevent this from happening, residents of the village of Razdolnoye, Mikhailovsky District, Ryazan Region, themselves took up the maintenance of an abandoned church built at the end of the eighteenth century, erected in the then dominant style of classicism. According to Ryazanskie Vedomosti, over the past century, the building has become dilapidated, and its masonry began to collapse in many places. Nevertheless, the 1790 church still looks majestic and continues to attract connoisseurs of church architecture. The original paintings have been preserved inside - and even a wrought iron cross has survived on the dome of the temple. Local believers did not wait for someone to help them preserve the historic temple. They themselves clear the rubble, bring icons and other items to the church that are necessary for worship. On holidays, a priest comes to the church and serves prayer services. On Easter and Christmas Day, religious processions are held around the church. Photo: Alexander Fedoseev
