The first liturgy with sign language interpretation was celebrated in Penza

В Пензе совершили первую литургию с сурдопереводом
The first divine liturgy was held in the Penza church in the name of St. Blessed Xenia of Petersburg, which operates at the children's regional hospital, the entire follow-up of which was accompanied by simultaneous translation into sign language. This is reported by the information portal PenzaSMI. Especially for people with hearing impairments, the main Christian divine service was accompanied by sign language interpretation, which was performed by Svetlana Golubeva. The professional translator was helped by members of the Penza Orthodox community - parishioners of the church of Blessed Xenia Olga Ablaeva, Elena Bazina and Lidia Kurkova. During the first divine service with sign language interpretation, together with the parishioners of the church, the head of the department for work with disabled people of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service of the Russian Orthodox Church, Veronika Leontyeva, who specially arrived in Penza from the capital of Russia, prayed together. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, she was given the opportunity to address the parishioners. In her speech, Veronica Leontyeva greeted the audience and thanked them for the joy of joint prayer - and then handed over literature for children with hearing impairments to the parish.
