The well-known Serbian priest Archpriest Velibor Dzhomich, head of the legal council of the Metropolitanate of the Montenegrin-Primorsky Serbian Orthodox Church, reminded the believers that fasting is not only about refusing certain food and drinks, but also other addictions inherent in modern people, including visiting social networks. ... “This disease of the inner nature in the new era requires a spiritual response. I believe that fasting is one of the most adequate answers for the treatment of this disease through refraining from inappropriate use of social networks and the Internet, ”the priest said. Archpriest Velibor Djokic, the author of books on church history, noted that for almost two previous millennia, information technologies, similar in their power to the current ones, were not known to the world. Without denying everything positive connected with the global network, the priest is convinced that today, in order to observe the inner part of fasting, it is very important to limit oneself from that on the Internet, 'which alienates the soul from the creator.'
