In the northern capital, unusual donation terminals have been seen. In particular, a photo of one of them, located in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, quickly spread over the network with the caption “Orthodox terminal” - because of the Christian symbols and the inscription “God bless you!” Made in Slavic script. The terminal reminded many Internet users of a similar device in Kaluga, through which it was proposed to deposit money for requests. However, the Russian Orthodox Church, as it turned out, has nothing to do with the installation of the terminal in St. Petersburg. According to the portal 78.ru, the device belongs to a charitable foundation that collects donations for children. The terminal has equipment for working with bank cards; to deposit funds, you need to touch the touch screen, select the amount and enter the pin code. Each of the donations is assigned an individual identification number, by which you can specify the receipt of the amount on the fund's website; fundraising information is updated daily. Contact information for the World Vita Foundation, which provides assistance to one of the social institutions for children, is available at the terminal. Nevertheless, questions about why Christian symbols were applied to the device and how it ended up in the monastery, which is under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church, remain open.
