The rector of the Orthodox cathedral of Grodno came to the church to support the Catholic community of the city

Настоятель православного собора Гродно пришёл в костёл, чтобы поддержать католическую общину города
In the Farny Church in Grodno, a common prayer was held for civil consent and the speedy return to his homeland of the head of the Belarusian Catholics, Metropolitan Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, who is still not allowed to enter the country. Among the people who came to support the Western Christians of the city was the rector of the Orthodox Holy Protection Cathedral of Grodno, Archpriest Georgy Roy.

In an interview given later to a Euroradio correspondent, a well-known Grodno priest noted:
- The service in the Farny Church was about the fact that Metropolitan Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz cannot enter Belarus, cannot be with his flock. We see that the representatives of the Catholic community are very worried about this, pray and consider the decision not to let Metropolitan Kondrusevich be unfair. Personally, I agree with this - that it is unfair. It should not be. As a sign of solidarity, we came to the church to say that we support the Catholic community, that we share their concern about this situation and that we hope what is unfair the decision will soon be canceled.
Archpriest George Roy believes that the Church should take care of salvation and not interfere in politics. At the same time, she cannot put up with violence, lies and attempts to divide people. Whether not indifferent people should participate in the events taking place in the country today - and, if so, how exactly - this, according to Father George, is a matter of everyone's conscience. After all, it is precisely the conscience that is the voice of the Lord God in the soul.
The Orthodox believers of Grodno, the rector of the Holy Protection Cathedral told the journalist, also pray for an early resolution of the political crisis in Belarus:
- Now we are all praying together. I am a priest in the cathedral, we have a very large community that brings together people of very different views, different political positions. We all pray for peace, we pray for our country ... I don't know what political means can be used to achieve peace, what exactly needs to be done here. But I am saying that it should not be so, and I pray for it.
