Elder Nikolai Guryanov was prayerfully remembered on the island of Zalit

On August 24, many believers from all over Russia and from outside of Russia gathered on the island flooded (Talabsk) on Lake Pskov in order to prayerfully honor the memory of Elder Nikolai Guryanov. On the day of his departure to the Lord God, funeral services were held on Zalit and the temples of the Pskov land.

Elder Nikolai Guryanov lived on the floodplain for about fifty years. He served in St. Nicholas Church, received spiritual children - and just people in need of spiritual help and parting words. The Lord endowed Fr. Nicholas with the gift of perspicacity: he predicted the end of the godless era, the acclaim of the family of the last Russian emperor with the saints, the tragic end of the nuclear submarines Komsomolets and Kursk. Even today, eighteen years after the death of the elder, believers annually come to Zalit on August 24 to participate in the funeral prayer for the spirit-bearing elder.
