On the island of Sakhalin, a charity event 'Create your own miracle' is being held

On Sakhalin, a multi-day campaign “Make Your Miracle” has started to collect Christmas gifts for children from low-income families and social institutions. It is conducted by the Orthodox youth organization 'Brotherhood of Alexander Nevsky'. To draw the attention of local residents to the charitable initiative, young men and women from the Brotherhood preceded the start of the action with pickets in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Their participants handed out about a thousand invitations to join them on the eve of Christmas and to take part in a common good cause.

Many caring inhabitants of the region have already responded to the call of young Christians by the grace of the Lord God. They bring books and educational games, clothes for children and adolescents, as well as toys and sports equipment to the building of the Orthodox lecture hall at the Church of St. Innocent of Moscow, located at 38 Pogranichnaya Street. All gifts collected before the holiday of the Nativity of the Lord Jesus Christ will be handed over to inmates of orphanages and rehabilitation centers in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Kholmsky and Tomarinsky districts and low-income families who have children.

One of the organizers of the action - the head of the diocesan department for work with youth, Archpriest Viktor Gorbach - in his interview to the Sakhalin Info portal noted that the beginning of the charity action 'Do Your Miracle' was timed to coincide with the holiday of St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Lycia. This one of the most revered Christian saints in the whole world, no less than the miracles that occurred through his prayer, became famous for his deeds of charity: the help to his neighbors, generously given to him, changed the lives of many people for the better. In essence, this is a true miracle, which everyone can become involved in these days before Christmas.
