At the construction site, where the historic temple in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is being restored in its historical place, many finds have been made by archaeologists conducting research. The last of them, as reported by 'Novosti Tatarstan' of the TV channel TNV, is the crypt of the Mother Superior of the Theotokos Convent, Abbess Sophia, dating back to 1807. In addition, a gravestone was discovered, one hundred square meters of cobblestones of an old cobbled square, fragments of a drum and pediment related to the historic cathedral, destroyed in 1932. St. Kazan Cathedral in the capital of Tatarstan is planned to be recreated in its historical form. It is already known that after the completion of construction, UNESCO is ready to include this temple in the list of cultural heritage sites.
