The Vesti Yamal website reported on Monday that an electronic bell ringer system was installed in the local church of St. Nicholas. Until now, the bell ringing, which informed the townspeople about Orthodox holidays, was performed by the bell ringer manually, but the new system allows bells to sound even in the absence of the bell ringer at the “workplace”. “It does not replace, it helps the bell ringer, helps the temple so that each temple has the voice of the cathedral, that is, so that the bell tower sounds, and not just the bells there. So that before and after the service you can use it all. And it is controlled quite easily. Everything is controlled from a cell phone, 'says Alexander Sterkhov, employee of the International Center for Bell Art. The system is programmed to perform about 70 bell ringing melodies. Each can sound during a specific Orthodox service or holiday. Now, even while in another city, the bell ringer will be able to control the bells.
