According to the city portal cherinfo.ru, on the night of July 6-7, traditional stands will take place on the banks of the Rybinsk Reservoir, timed to the patronal feast of the Novo-Leushinsky Monastery, in which many believers will take part. The Leushinsky convent, founded in 1875, was closed in the thirties of the last century, and in the forties - at the direction of the godless authorities, it was flooded with the waters of the Rybinsk reservoir. The new monastery began to operate in these places at the beginning of last year. The program of the Leushinsky stands includes a procession of the cross, a tour of the revived monastery, a prayer service for water, a concert of pupils of the Sunday school and, of course, a festive evening service. The main part of the event will begin at midnight, when the pilgrims will go out together to the worship cross on the bank of the reservoir and read the akathist. Prayer stands in remembrance of the flooding of the monastery have been held here annually since 1999; they were initiated by the parish of the Leushinsky courtyard in St. Petersburg. Every year hundreds of participants gather here for joint prayer from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, Vologda and Cherepovets.
