The Vatican has issued a brochure titled 'He Made Them Man and Woman,' the BBC reported. It contains 31 pages of harsh criticism of far-fetched notions of belonging to one or the other sex, which have become the norm in a number of countries.
The brochure has been prepared for publication by the Congregation for Catholic Education for educators and other professionals who work with children. It says that the modern approach to the topic of gender identity is directly related to the crisis in the education system, encroaches on the natural order of things and destroys the institution of the family. “He made them male and female” includes borrowings from the speeches of Pope Francis. The methodological guide argues that modern gender theories are moving further and further from nature and are inclined towards a “dubious understanding of freedom” and choice based on feelings and desires. The authors of the manual directly say that gender is determined not by a person, but by God: 'The Holy Scriptures show the wisdom of the decisions of the Creator, who gave a person his body, his male and female essence.' Educational institutions, the brochure says, should teach understanding of the true nature of man, based on a coherent and convincing anthropology. At the same time, the manual says, disrespect should not be shown to anyone - no one in the world should not suffer from bullying and discrimination. The Vatican's manual has already received the expected criticism from transgender people and other members of sexual minorities. An organization of LGBT Catholics (!) From the United States called the New Ways Ministry called the brochure a harmful tool that can confuse the minds of those suffering from gender identity problems, and the position of the Holy See on this issue - a return to the Middle Ages.
