The icon, stolen 38 years ago, returned to the temple

Икона, похищенная 38 лет назад, вернулась в храм
According to VESTI Tula, the icon of St. Theodosius of Chernigov the Wonderworker, stolen in 1981 in Kirov, has been reopened for the worship of believers in the church from which it disappeared.

The holy image was barbarously broken out of the wall of the temple. The criminals are looking for a unique four-kilogram silver frame 84, made by Ivan Khlebnikov, a craftsman who, among other things, was the supplier of the Russian Imperial Court in the late 19th - early 20th centuries. And although the original icon itself was lost, the Tula police officers managed to find its precious salary, confiscate it and find out to which temple the holy image belonged. To do this, the police had to resort to the help of veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and thoroughly work with the archives. In 2018, the salary was transferred to the Vyatka diocese, where a copy of the lost icon was written for it. Finally, on May 30 of this year, after the completion of the restoration work, Metropolitan Mark of Vyatka and Sloboda served a thanksgiving service in front of the renewed image of St. Theodosius. Together with the local believers, the police from Tula prayed for him, who carried out search activities that were crowned with success. Thus, the revered icon returned to the Intercession Church of Kirov, where it will remain.
