The foundation of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is awaiting restoration

Фундамент храма Гроба Господня ждёт реставрация
In September, Italian restorers will begin restoration work on the foundation of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem: the foundation of the building and the soil under it. Representatives of Christian confessions came to an agreement on this, they are represented in the main temple for all Christians in the world. A committee will be formed from the priests of these churches to oversee the progress of the work. The restoration is planned to be carried out in two stages. At the first stage, specialists will examine the foundation and find out the reason for the appearance of dampness in the temple. At the second stage, they will be directly engaged in restoration and restoration work, starting from the lowest levels of the structure and up to the renewal of the coating in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Work will also take place near the Kuvuklia - the place of the Resurrection of Christ. As long as the restoration lasts, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher will remain open for pilgrims to access. In the very same Kuvuklia, we recall, the restoration work, the first in the past two centuries, was completed about two years ago. Then Greek specialists cleared the facade of the shrine from candle soot - and also dismantled the metal structure that had surrounded Kuvukliya for the last seventy years. As scientists predict, during the new stage of restoration work, given their scale, there is a high probability of finding new historical artifacts and archaeological discoveries.
