Part of the relics of George the Victorious was handed over to the Ryazan Airborne School

Частица мощей Георгия Победоносца передана в Рязанское десантное училище
During the celebrations held on June 12 in honor of the Day of Russia at the Ryazan School of the Airborne Forces, the school received a reliquary with a particle of the relics of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious, the patron saint of Christian soldiers. This was reported by Gazeta Ryazan.

Governor of the Ryazan Region Nikolai Lyubimov, addressing the staff and cadets of the school, said: “Recently, in memory of the excellent performance of the cadets at the parade, in honor of the Great Victory Day on Red Square in Moscow, I presented you with an icon of St. George the Victorious. This is how a good new tradition began. It is very important that it continues. The relics of the great martyr will be kept in the Church of St. George the Victorious, which is being built on the territory. The relic will become a symbol of the heavenly patronage of the landing troops. '
After the solemn transfer ceremony, the ark with a particle of relics was temporarily transferred to the Boris-Gleb Cathedral in Ryazan by the latter's priest, Archpriest Georgy Averin, and Archpriest Yevgeny Shcherbak, rector of the Ilyinsky military church in the 308th Training Center 'Seltsy' at the Airborne School. When the construction of the St. George Church is completed on the territory of the school, the shrine will return to the territory of the educational institution.
