Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated last Sunday a solemn divine service on the Kremlin Square in Vologda as part of his pastoral trip to the region. According to the press service of the Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov, about 12 thousand believers attended the service. “We celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the center of Vologda, a northern city with a special history and, undoubtedly, a wonderful future. During the patriarchal visit, the Governor of the Vologda Oblast discussed with the Primate the issue of restoring the vertical dominant of the historical center of Vologda - the bell tower of St. Sophia Cathedral.
