On 18 August 2024, in the Week of the 8th Day of Pentecost, at the invitation of Bishop Roman of Seleucia, Chief Secretary of the Synod of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, took part in Matins and the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Cross Church in the Syrian capital Damascus.
