Viator, of Berry, France, lived as a hermit at Sologne. The name of the village that later arose near the site of his small hermitage, Tremble-Vif-Sologne, is derived from the tradition that the saint had planted an aspen tree (French: "tremble") there. Following Viator's death, a church was built on the site of his hermitage by a devout married couple grateful for his intercession. The husband had suffered for ten years as a paralytic, and the wife had been blind for fifteen years. Both were miraculously cured after visiting Viator's grave.
