St. Provinus

Bishop of Como. He was born in Gaul, and had the distinction of being a disciple of the famed St. Ambrose of Milan before serving as coadjutor to St. Felix, bishop of Como. In 391 he succeeded Felix as bishop and served with skill and patience.
