St. Possidus, Possidonius

I was a bishop. Though African, I had Roman citizenship. I was a friend of St. Augustine. The year 397 A.D. saw me elected bishop at Calama (Guelma), Numidia in Africa.
I fought vigorously against Donatism and paganism. In 416 A.D. I attended the Synod of Mileve, fighting against Pelagianism. I attended the death of St. Augustine, writing of him.
I left when the Vandals invaded Africa, and went to Southern Italy, 16 May.
