St. Apelles

Death: 1st century

A martyr associated with Sts. Lucius and Clement. Apelles was the first bishop of Smyrna, Turkey, and was mentioned by St. Paul in Romans. Lucius was the bishop of Laodicea. All three were martyred for the faith. St. Lucius and Apelles share the same feast day.
