Martyrs of Laval

Victims of the pervasive anti-Catholic policies which were advanced during the French Revolution. The martyrs were headed by Blessed John Baptist Turpin du Cormier and were slain with great cruelty by a mob of revolutionaries. Pope Pius XII beatified them in 1955.
