Martyrs of Constantinople

Three groups who suffered for the faith in Constantinople, modern Istanbul, Turkey.

(d. 351-359) Martyrs slain under the Arian co­emperor Constantius for refusing to abjure the orthodox faith. Feastday: March 30 (d. 485) The monks of St. Dius. They were slain by adherents of the Acacian Schism which troubled the Eastern Empire and divided the Eastern and Western Churches from about 484-519. Feastday: February 8 (d. 832) + Abrahamite monks slain by the Iconoclast Emperor Theophilus for refusing to surrender icons for destruction. Feastday: July 8
