About object
There is the village of Khotovo in the Volkhovsky District of the Leningrad Region. The first house of prayer in it was an 18th century chapel, instead of which a wooden church was erected in 1854. However, seven years later she died in a fire - and a new brick was built in its place in 1863-1867. It was erected in the Russian-Byzantine style according to the project of A.P. Melnikov - and was a one-dome, four-pillar building, the dome and bell tower of which were completed by decorative tents with domes. A well-known St. Petersburg priest, Father Alexy Kolokolov, became the trustee of the village church in honor of the Feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos.
In 1935, services in the Vvedenskaya Church ceased, and it remained closed until May 9, 1941, when it was transferred to the village club. During the Great Patriotic War, the historical temple suffered considerable damage: part of the building was destroyed by the explosions of shells. In the post-war years, Orthodox believers in the village of Khotovo submitted a petition to open a church, but they were refused. For another decades, the temple was destined to stand in desolation, gradually collapsing under the influence elements.
Only on May 9, 2014, for the first time in 73 years, the words of a common prayer sounded in the church. A prayer service to the Mother of God was held here, and after it a memorial service was served for the soldiers who died in the fields of the Great Patriotic War. Soon after, the residents of Khotovo and the surrounding villages formed an initiative group to restore the historic Vvedenskaya church. It was headed by the Dean of the Kirish and Volkhov districts; The group included the rector of the Vvedenskaya church and local lay believers.
Currently, work on the revival of the historic Church of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos is being carried out by the local believers, the Father Superior and a few workers who come to help the parish in a good cause. At the time of the restoration of the building, a wooden box, sheathed with polyethylene and fiberboard sheets, was erected inside it for security purposes, inside which divine services are performed. The upper part of the temple is covered with a temporary roof, which prevents the destruction of the masonry of the vaults and walls. The hipped roofs with domes over the temple and the bell tower were re-installed - however, most of the work on the restoration of the Vvedensky temple in Khotovo is still ahead.

You can write a letter to God or light a candle in the temple .
