On April 24, 2024, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade, a regular meeting of the Plenum of the Patriarchal Council was held under the chairmanship of His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia, Msgr. Porfirije, with the participation of His Eminence Metropolitan of Montenegro and Primorski, Msgr. Ioanniki and His Holiness the Bishop of Upper Karlovac, Msgr. Gerasim.
The session was preceded by an invocation to the Holy Spirit, which was made in the patriarchal chapel of St. Simeon Myrotochivo by His Grace Bishop of Iegar, Msgr. Nektarius, Vicar of the Patriarch of Serbia, with the consent of Archimandrite Michael (Bikovic) of the Diocese of Valjevo, Archpriest Vladan Simic of the Diocese of Bacovka, and Deacon Nikola Kostic, an official of the Serbian Patriarch's Cabinet.
During the meeting, the regular annual reports and new business plans of the patriarchal bodies subordinate to the Patriarchal Board were adopted. This year's meeting of the Plenum of the Patriarchal Board is the last regular meeting of this body, elected by the Holy Synod of Bishops for the mandate period 2019-2024. years. years. Patriarch Porfiry, with words of fatherly love and respect, thanked all the previous members of the current Plenum convocation for the love and dedication they have shown by participating in the work of this ecclesiastical body, expressing his prayerful wish that the new convocation will continue to contribute to the life and progress of our holy Church.
