The sixth issue of the «Journal of the Moscow Patriarchate» for 2024 has been published.

The editorial board's address to readers reads:

«The pillar of our strength

The long-suffering Job rightly lamented that he had no support in himself, for in every circumstance, and indeed always, man relies on the Lord (see Psalm 17:19). In God we seek and find support in the life of the church and state, in public and family life, and, without a doubt, in our personal life. The new issue of the Journal of the Moscow Patriarchate tells about events that vividly testify to how this is realized in Russian reality. On assuming the office of head of state, the President turns for prayer and blessing to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church. Our Supreme Patriarch, tireless and zealous in sacrificial service, on the day of his namesake unites around him the episcopate, which, in accordance with the decisions of the Holy Synod, is growing and carrying the apostolic sermon to all ends of our vast Motherland. We trust that in a time of trial, the Orthodox faith, rooted in the heart of the people, becomes a support that generates an unstoppable force.

In the distant and recent past we have We are acquiring amazing examples of a life of faith and trust in God in conditions that are politically difficult and more than moderately complex in terms of diversity and originality. The Holy Prince Andrew Bogolyubsky, a participant in the most complicated peripetias of the princely feuds of the XII century, appears before us today as an inspired patron of the Mother of God, a temple builder and earthly patron of the Church in his appanions. St. Patriarch Tikhon, persecuted and humiliated by the godless power, in spite of bloodthirsty intrigues, sanctified every place where he stayed and prayed in the days of tribulation with the grace of a humble feat. And today we are building a pilgrimage route around the Mother See, so that in the era of the revival of faith to keep the reverent memory of the courage of the new martyrs and confessors.

The search for support in the Most High, the hope for His help in the church daily life finds manifestation in the everyday affairs of church workers, one of the representatives of which is the dean. A separate article tells about the origin and development of this phenomenon in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church.
