Svyato-Trinity Sergiev Lavra together with RIA «Novosti» opens the art-historical project «The Road to Lavra». A series of educational podcasts devoted to the history of the Trinity-St. Sergius Monastery will tell about how Lavra became the spiritual heart of Russia, its economic backbone in difficult times, as well as about unknown facts from the monastery's recent history.
Experts in the episodes will be the inhabitants of Lavra: editor-in-chief of publishing houses «Ladan» and «Trinity School» Hieromonk Nektariy (Sokolov) and the head of the Lavra icon-painting workshop Hieromonk Nikifor (Isakov). Together with them historians, art historians, culturologists, restorers and architects will participate in the project.
On June 7, 2024, the first episode of the podcast was released, dedicated to the history of Lavra during the difficult years of the Time of Troubles, the patriotic feat of the monastery's inhabitants and the miraculous deliverance of the monastery from the Polish-Lithuanian siege.
The podcast is available for listening on the RIA «Novosti» website, as well as on «Yandex. Music» and Simplecast. The plan is to release episodes of the podcast on Fridays in the future.
