On November 7, Archpriest Mikhail Potokin, acting chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service, met with Archpriest Archpriest Michael Potokin, chairman of the board of directors of the Circle of Goodness Foundation, chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on Social Partnership, Care and Development of Inclusive Practices, rector of St. Dukhovsky Cathedral in St. Petersburg, founder of the first children's hospice in Russia. The participants of the meeting discussed the work of the Foundation «Circle of Goodness», opportunities for cooperation on the development of social activities in dioceses, including within the framework of the educational project «Keys», as well as opportunities to support people in need in small towns and villages.

In the course of the meeting Archpriest Alexander Tkachenko spoke about the work of the fund «Circle of Goodness», which was created by the Decree of the President of Russia in January 2021 as an additional mechanism for organizing and financing assistance to children. The Foundation is engaged in providing medical assistance to children with severe and rare diseases that require expensive treatment. The Foundation procures for In addition, it pays for unique medicines, medical devices (including those not registered in Russia) and technical means of rehabilitation that are not included in the existing federal list, and pays for complex surgeries. Since 2021, assistance has already been provided to more than 26,000 children.

Propriest Mikhail Potokin spoke about the educational project «Keys» to help prepare 10th and 11th grade students from large, low-income families and orphans for the USE. Students and graduate students from leading Russian universities work with schoolchildren as tutors. Classes for students are free of charge, regardless of religion. At present, the project provides training in Russian language, mathematics, biology, English, and social studies.

The participants of the meeting discussed the prospects of cooperation on the development of social ministry in dioceses and assistance to people in need, including within the framework of the educational project «Keys».

Propriest Alexander Tkachenko organized the country's first children's hospice in St. Petersburg in 2003. More than 300 families receive help in it every year. Today, inpatient children's hospice centers have also been opened in Domodedovo Moscow region and Pavlovsk Leningrad region. In 2016, Archpriest Alexander Tkachenko won the state award for outstanding achievements in the field of human rights and charitable activities. In December 2020, Archpriest Alexander Tkachenko was awarded the Order of Honor for his significant contribution to the development of health care and many years of conscientious work.
