On December 10, 2024, an online meeting was held between representatives of the Synodal Missionary Department and heads of missionary departments of dioceses located in the Urals Federal District.

At the beginning of the meeting, Priest Anthony Kosykh, the WSC Vice-Chairman, addressed the participants with words of greeting and quoted Holy Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the importance of unity in the preaching of the Holy Gospel: «Mission must be the work of the whole Church today, and we must all be united in this common missionary work. Mission should by no means divide people. Today there is some tension between those who accept certain missionary methods and those who reject these methods. I think that here we need to remove the patina of any kind of epatage, of excessive originality. It is necessary to work with humility, and most importantly, to pursue only one goal — that people's hearts will turn to God.
The participants were also addressed by the vice-chairman for external mission, Priest Dionisy Grishkov, and the assistant to the chairman of the WSC for scientific and methodological support of the mission, Professor A.N. Gunya.
The following issues were discussed interaction between the synodal and diocesan missionary departments on the main areas of missionary service of the Church at the present stage (internal, external and apologetic mission), as well as the problems of organizing the training of missionary personnel.
The heads of missionary departments asked questions of interest to them, spoke about current problems faced by preachers in the field, and shared their experience in organizing missionary work.
