On Tuesday, January 24th / February 6th, 2024, His Divine Beatitude Our Father and Patriarch Theophilus of Jerusalem received His Eminence Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan of the Moscow Patriarchate, accompanied by his priests and the representative of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem (MISSION) Archimandrite Nikon.
At this meeting, His Beatitude presented to His Eminence Kirill the pastoral, pilgrimage and pacification work carried out by the Patriarchate amidst the ongoing and raging war in Gaza, where our Patriarchate in the Monastery of St. Porphyrios is providing refuge to 400 members of its Community under His Eminence Archbishop Alexis of Tiberias and Hieromonk Silas.
His Eminence Cyril informed His Beatitude about his pastoral activities in the Holy Metropolis of Kazan, and requested and received from His Beatitude canonical permission to perform services at the Holy Places of Pilgrimage during his stay here.
