On Monday morning, July 2 / 15, 2024, His Beatitude was visited by the Minister of Communications of Serbia, Mr. Dejan Ristic, accompanied by his secretary Milan Dobrijevic, staff members Nikola Bicanin, Stanko Debeljakovic, Vuk Skekic, Deputy Dean for Science and International Cooperation and Head of the Department of Information and Communication Systems at the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Darko Stefanovic, His Excellency Mr. Miroljub Nikolic, Ambassador of Serbia to Israel, and Mr. Aleksandar Nikolic, Honorary Consul of Serbia to Israel.
This delegation asked His Beatitude to pray and bless the peace and prosperity of Serbia in its sensitive geographical location amidst current political events.
His Beatitude replied to the Minister that he prays for the country and people of Serbia, realizing its problems, as well as those of Kosovo and Montenegro. He also prays for the unity of the Orthodox Churches. His Beatitude offered the guests a silver image of Jerusalem and asked them to convey to His Beatitude Patriarch Porphyrios of Serbia an invitation to visit the Holy Land.
