In Ufa, 21 years after the beginning of the construction of the Resurrection Cathedral, work on the construction site of the temple will resume. On December 3, 2024, the first meeting of the working group with the participation of representatives of Ufa Diocese, builders, lawyers and benefactors took place at the cathedral.

In the course of the meeting it was decided to create a charitable foundation «Resurrection Cathedral», the founder of which became the vice-president of the company «Rosneft» Gennady Bukayev. The patron of the arts has a lot of restored religious objects on his account. The most famous of them is St. George's Dormition Monastery «Svyatye kustiki» in Blagoveshchensky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
«To participate in such a noble cause — is an honor for me, — said Gennady Bukayev. — After the construction is completed, the temple will become a pearl not only in Ufa, but also in the whole of Russia. Every Orthodox Christian is simply obliged to help in this God-pleasing project. In our country the traditions of patronage of arts are very well developed, so I am sure that not only I, but also other financially wealthy natives and residents of Bashkortostan, as well as citizens who are not indifferent, will contribute to the project.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fund «Resurrection Cathedral» has been elected. Karine Khabirova, wife of the head of Bashkiria, is known for her charitable activities. She participates in projects that help orphans and disabled children, as well as in educational projects such as «Territory of Women's Happiness» K. Khabirova is also the ideological inspirer of the Ufa hospice.

In 2003, the construction of an exact copy of the church destroyed by the Bolsheviks began under the project of architect R. Kiraidt, but soon the construction was suspended. In 2016, Ufa visited by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, and construction was restarted, but not for long, and the introduction of the cathedral was again postponed. A new impetus to the construction of the Resurrection Church was given by the President of Russia V.V. Putin, who asked a question to the President of the Russian Federation. Putin, who asked a question about the unfinished building during his visit to the forum «Russia — sporting power» in Ufa. Gennady Bukayev offered his help, and the work on the construction of the temple was completed has resumed.
According to approximate calculations of specialists, more than a billion rubles is needed to complete the construction of the main Orthodox church of Bashkortostan with a capacity of 3000 people.
Builder Rustam Ulmasov in a conversation with the correspondent of «Bashinform» noted that the building itself has already been built and to some extent is functioning, but there is a large amount of finishing work to be done, landscaping, as well as the construction of utilities. «In technical terms, the work is not easy, so in terms of time it is not so fast. At the end of the first meeting of the working group in the cathedral on December 3 a prayer service was held, led by Metropolitan Nikon. The service was also attended by parishioners of the temple, who hope that soon the city will have a new place of attraction for believers and for all citizens.
