On October 16, 2024 at 19.00 in the Historical, Cultural and Educational Center of the Orthodox Svyato-Tikhonovsky Humanitarian University «Sobornaya Palata» in Moscow will be held a charity concert of the Moscow Synodal Choir «Soul of the People»
.The event is organized by the Foundation for Assistance to the Revival of the Synodal Choir with the support of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of Moscow. The proceeds will be donated to the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service.
The choir's new program includes — Russian sacred music and folk poems. Maria Legusova, a performer of Russian folk songs, romances, author's and popular Soviet songs, will take part in the concert.

Moscow Synodal The Moscow Synodal Choir — one of the first professional musical groups in Russia, dating back to the 16th century. With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, in January 2010 the Moscow Synodal Choir began its revival on the basis of the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God «Joy of All Who Sorrow» on Bolshaya Ordynka, where since 1948 the traditions of the Moscow school of church singing under the direction of regent Nikolai Matveev have been preserved. Currently, the ensemble has 80 singers. In addition to participating in solemn services, the Moscow Synodal Choir performs concert programs in Moscow, Russia and abroad.
