November 19-20, 2024 on the basis of the Saratov Theological Seminary with the support of the Teaching Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church held the IV seminar of the Community of Teachers and Researchers of Church History disciplines, combined with the profile professional development program «Actual problems of teaching and studying the history of the Russian Orthodox Church». The event was aimed at improving the professional level of teachers of the history of the Russian Orthodox Church working in theological schools and secular educational organizations. During the seminar, lectures were delivered by researchers from leading theological schools of the Russian Orthodox Church and secular universities.
On the first day of the seminar there was a solemn opening, during which the participants were addressed by Metropolitan Ignatius of Saratov and Volga. The welcoming speech of the Chairman of the Training Committee, Protopriest Maxim Kozlov, was also announced.

On November 20, lectures were delivered to the participants of the course by: Ph. Lipovetsky; Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the St. Petersburg V.B. Bobkov Branch of the Russian Customs Academy I.V. Petrov; Archpriest Kirill Krasnoshchekov, Candidate of Theology, Head of the Department of Church History of the Saratov Theological Seminary; Deacon Sergius Kulpinov, Doctor of Church History, Professor of the Department of Church History and Philology of the Ekaterinburg Theological Seminary; M.V. Pervushin, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Church History of the MDA.
Course attendees had the opportunity to ask questions to the lecturers, as well as in the format of round tables to exchange experiences and opinions on current issues of research and teaching the history of the Russian Orthodox Church. The most active discussion was devoted to the issues of methodological support for teaching the subject and the preparation of term papers and graduate qualification works on church history, the work of researchers and students in archives, and the scientific and publishing work of church history publications.
The advanced training courses were attended by more than one hundred people from spiritual educational institutions and theological divisions of state universities.
