As of August 9, 2024, the following churches and monastery of the Kursk Diocese were damaged by AFU shelling:
- Gornal Nikolayevsky Belogorsky monastery (St. Nicholas church, Intercession church, buildings and outbuildings);
- Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary village. Guevo Sujansky district, Kursk region;
- the church of St. Theodosius of Chernigov village. Popovo-Lezhachi Glushkovsky district;
- the temple of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village. Alekseevka Glushkovsky district .
At present, three priests remain in place, unable to evacuate (there is no communication with them).
The refugees are distributed centrally by the city and regional authorities in temporary accommodation centers or independently by relatives and acquaintances. The Kursk diocese provides as much help as possible by collecting food packages, things and finances.
The Kursk Korenaya Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God male desert accommodated 40 people refugees. In the building of the Interdeparchial Center for the training of church specialists (former Kursk Theological Seminary) accommodated 14 people; in the Trinity Convent in Kursk — 10 people.

The Kursk diocese has set up an operational headquarters for the coordination of actions to provide assistance to the population. A brigade of priests has been created to support the wounded in hospitals and hospitals in Kursk.
