On June 27, 2024, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Relations between the Church and Society and the Media V.R. Legoyda held meetings with the heads of information departments and press services of dioceses located in the Central and Northwestern Federal Districts. The meetings were held via videoconference.
The meetings raised topical issues of the Church-wide agenda and current working interaction. In particular, the chairman of the Department drew the attention of his colleagues to the release of Metropolitan Jonathan of Tulchin and Bratslav. This event, as V.R. Legoyda noted, became possible thanks to the participation of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
The meeting also raised the issue of work conducted in dialogue with representatives of public organizations. The Chairman of the Division emphasized the importance of such interaction and encouraged colleagues to share their experience.
Legoyda separately touched upon the topic of relations with the secular media, in connection with which he gave practical recommendations for improving the quality of cooperation.
In the course of the meeting with the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church. of the dioceses of the Central Federal District, a brief presentation was made by Priest Vyacheslav Beregovoy, Head of the Department for Culture and Media Relations of the Pesochensk Diocese, who shared his experience in organizing effective interaction between the diocese and popular Telegram channels and the media.
