On the night of May 4-5, 2024, the Feast of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa Metropolitan Constantine of Zaraisk celebrated midnight vigil, procession, Paschal Matins, and the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom at the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg (South Africa). His Eminence was served by Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, rector of the church.
At Paschal Matins, Metropolitan Constantine read the Word of Ophthalmology of St. John Chrysostom for Holy Pascha.
At the Liturgy, the Paschal Gospel (John 1:1-17) was read in six languages.
After the Liturgy, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi read the Easter message of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to archpastors, shepherds, deacons, monastics and all faithful members of the Russian Orthodox Church.
After the intercessory prayer, Metropolitan Constantine consecrated the artos.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Constantine congratulated the rector and the faithful on the Pascha of Christ and gave everyone an archpastoral blessing.
