On June 2, 2024, the I Festival of Spiritual Music of the Peoples of the Christian East «Tapan» Armenian Museum in Moscow will host «Blessed be the Lord forever».
The event is organized by Russian and Novo-Nakhichevan Eparchies.
The event is organized by the Russian and New Nakhichevan Eparchy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Saint Cyril and Methodius Postgraduate and Doctoral School. The festival is held in the context of the training course «Ancient Eastern Churches» — a joint project of the Department for External Church Relations and the All-Church Postgraduate School. In the future, it is planned to be held on an annual basis.
The concert program will be attended by the choir of the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord of the Russian and New Nakhchivan Eparchy, the choir of the Moscow Assyrian Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the choir of the Patriarchal Chernigov Palace, combined choir of parish associations of the South Indian dioceses of the Malankara Church (in video broadcast mode), as well as representatives of the Coptic and Ethiopian Churches and the vocal and instrumental ensemble Trio «Cilicia».
The following works will be performed Russian spiritual music and chants of the ancient Eastern Churches, hymns by famous saints and mystics. For the first time the public will be presented traditional chants of Ethiopian and Indian Christians, masterpieces of the musical heritage of the Assyrian Church of the East in the classical Syriac language, the closest relative of the Aramaic language, spoken by Christ Himself, the Blessed Virgin Mary and the holy apostles.
Aimed at strengthening the centuries-old fraternal ties between Russia and the Christian East, the festival will be a bright and memorable event for a wide range of art connoisseurs.
The concert will be held at the following address: Moscow, Olimpiysky Prospekt, 9 (White Hall of the Museum «Tapan»). Start at 16.30. Entrance is free.
