«We are gathered here today to honor the memory of an outstanding person — David Ilyich Arsenishvili. For his ascetic life he, we believe, had a better fate with the Lord. And now we are grateful to him that he was able to preserve this holy place. He lived right here, in the Cathedral of the Savior, and advocated for the temple to be preserved. Our gratitude to David Ilyich today is manifested in the fact that we remember and pray for him, — — noted, in particular, Metropolitan Nikandr in a word at the end of the funeral service.
