On May 24, 2024 in the historical center of Minsk, traditional celebrations were held in honor of the Memorial Day of Equal Apostles Methodius and Cyril and the Day of Slavonic Script and Culture.
For the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the Belarusian capital this day — a special holiday: it is in honor of Saints Cyril and Methodius consecrated the throne of the baptismal church of the cathedral. With the blessing of Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Veniamin, the Divine Liturgy in the church was led by Bishop of Nesvizh Avksenty.

At the end of the Liturgy. Bishop Auxentius, clergy and laity marched in procession to Minsk Castle. Halfway through the procession they were joined by clerics and parishioners of St. Peter and Paul Cathedral.
At the foundation of the Castle Church — the first Minsk Orthodox church, erected in the XI century, — Bishop Avksenty led a prayer service. Then the glorification of the Equal Apostles Cyril and Methodius was celebrated. The participants of the celebrations laid flowers at the memorial stone on the site of the Castle Church.
