On the occasion of the temple celebration, His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Mr.. Porfirios served the Most Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark on May 8, 2024, Mark's Day, in Tašmajdan.
- If we have faith in the risen Christ, this is what makes us always faithful in the truth. It is what makes us believe that in the end justice will always show its power in our lives. It is what ensures that we are alive right here and right now because we don't just believe in some abstract, impersonal god, some distant and powerful force. We believe in the risen Christ, and that's why this is the theme and question we need to ask ourselves every day and remind ourselves that our God is Jesus Christ, who was crucified on the Cross and rose again. Regardless of our failures, weaknesses, misfortunes and mutual misunderstandings and disagreements, this is the only guarantee that here and now, and not in some future age, we will taste life, truth and justice, even though death, injustice and lies are often directed against us," said Patriarch Porphyry, whose speech in its entirety can be read HERE .
During the Holy Liturgy, Patriarch Porfirios ordained priests Branislav Borota to the rank of archpriest, and Aleksandar Lucic and Miodrag Ristic to the rank of protovicars.
