On April 12, 2024, training courses for palliative care unit nurses were completed in Kherson Oblast. The courses were conducted by the staff of the Training Center of the Central Clinical Hospital of St. Alexis, Metropolitan of Moscow. Training in Verkhny Rogachik and Novotroitsk was completed by 36 people, reports Patriarchy.ru.

"The training center of our church hospital is engaged in training qualified nursing staff in nursing and palliative care. Now we are focusing on holding courses in the regions, as training is especially important there, and we receive a lot of requests," said Alexei Zarov, chief physician and director of St. Alexis Hospital. - The palliative care unit at the Verkhnerogachik Central District Hospital is currently the only one in the entire region. It resumed its work at the end of last year. It is a rather large department, which can take up to 30 seriously ill patients. Such patients especially need professional nursing care".
The training lasted five days. During the internship, the trainees learned basic nursing skills for bedridden patients. They studied topics such as moving, positioning, feeding and hygiene of sedentary people. In addition to practical skills, the trainers of the Training Center paid great attention to St. Alexis Hospital paid attention to the attitude towards the patient.
On April 1-5, a field training course was also held for medical staff of Novotroitsk Central Hospital in Kherson region.
Since March 29, a mobile medical complex of St. Alexis Church Hospital has been working in Novotroitsk district. Doctors conduct medical examination, do fluorography and ultrasound, prescribe treatment and issue medicines. During this time the complex has received more than 600 people.
At the St. Alexius Hospital Training Center, about 4,500 people have received vocational training in the "Junior Nurse / Nursing Nurse" program since 2019. Palliative care nursing has been mastered by 678 people in Moscow and more than 2,000 people from the regions, including the conflict zone. 1,020 trainees completed courses in wounded care in Moscow.
The Central Clinical Hospital of St. Alexis is a medical institution of the Russian Orthodox Church, a multidisciplinary medical institution with 290 beds.
