On June 5, 2024, a regular meeting of the working group on the codification of akathists was held at the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church under the chairmanship of Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk.

The meeting was held at the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The meeting considered the Akathist to St. Antipas of Valaam and the Akathist to Righteous Vasily of Pavlovo-Posad. As a result of the meeting, draft texts of the akathists were prepared for consideration by the Holy Synod.

With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia since April 29, 2011 at the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church created a working group on the codification of akathists. According to the resolution of His Holiness, the texts of all akathists who come to the Publishing Council and do not have official Church approval must be reviewed by the working group.

According to the synodal definition of May 14, 2018 (p. 11 of Journal No. 28), akathistas to newly glorified saints are accepted for consideration by the Holy Synod only after complete liturgical sequences to such saints have been compiled and approved in accordance with the established procedure.
