At the Litany of Supplication special petitions were offered, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church read a prayer for Holy Russia.
At the Litany of requiem prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the departed servants of God - «the ever-memorable Primates of the Church of Russia, builders and rulers of Holy Russia, blessed princes and princesses, tsars and queens and all those who were in power, who cared for the blameless faith and who governed our country with diligence in the faith of the Christian law, in this temple and in other places buried, leaders and warriors on the battlefield who laid down their lives for faith and Fatherland, and all our forefathers, fathers and brothers who have been deceased from ages past, and for them we make remembrance now».
Priest Konstantin Bannikov, clergyman of the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God «Neopalimaya Kupina» in Otradnoye, Moscow, delivered the sermon before Communion.
After the Liturgy, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill celebrated the censing at the tombstones in the Archangel Cathedral of the Kremlin and a requiem liturgy.
