Thanks to its custodian, Deacon Nektariy Yangson, the icon constantly travels throughout America and beyond to comfort the faithful.
On Easter 2024, the icon was in its home church in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kailua (Hawaii), where it suddenly began to glow profusely, as if expressing the great joy of the Resurrection of Christ.
"This year the Mother of God again showed us her boundless love. The Holy Icon on Easter was simply soaked with peace from top to bottom! Glory to God! After the Holy Fire that descends in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, this is perhaps the second Easter miracle that happens every year. Please remember our beloved Fr. It was previously reported that an Orthodox American man named Daniel suffered for two years from a degenerative brain disease that robbed him of his job, his health and the ability to spend time with his family. In May 2023, his wife suggested that he travel to St. Tikhon's Monastery (Waymart, PA, USA) to visit his family. to join the annual pilgrimage and worship the miracle-working Iveron Hawaii icon of the Virgin Mary, brought by its guardian, Father Nectarius. Daniel arrived in Pennsylvania - and was immediately healed before the miraculous image.
