The center will become a shelter for them They will receive spiritual-psychological, social, legal and humanitarian assistance, they will also be able to learn new professions, restore social ties and acquire the attitude to an independent active position in life.
"Today is a long-awaited day. With the blessing of the Holy Fathers, a crisis center has been consecrated in our region, where women in difficult life situations can find shelter. Often we see how those women who could not control themselves, who at the right moment, when they were pregnant, were not given a helping hand, or their husband turned away, saying that they should decide for themselves, and they made a decision that seemed to them the simplest - to have an abortion, and the guilt remained on everyone. Years later, these women come to the temple, weeping and very much regretting what they have done. And they say how much they wish they had children.
This crisis center was created so that a person who lost his footing could find shelter here, like-minded people, loving hearts that would support him, pick up the falling soul. Here a woman can also receive the help of a psychologist, we will attract Orthodox specialists. The center is located next to a monastery, where you can approach the Icons, come to the Liturgy, ask God for help and see the way, not the way that the world offers - to live for yourself, why have children, but the way that God offers. And, of course, for women the way of salvation and return to God is childbearing," said Hegumen Daniel (Tsupikov).
The crisis center is arranged in the historical building of the monastery hospital of the early XX century. It was built according to the project of architect Nikolai Lebedev on the funds of philanthropists Mogilevtsev brothers. It was opened in 1911. During the First World War a 20-bed hospital was organized here. It was named in honor of Prince Oleg Konstantinovich, son of Grand Duke Konstantin Romanov, who died of a battle wound. By the end of 1914 more than 100 people had passed through the hospital. After the closure of the monastery in 1923, the building of the monastery hospital housed a children's orthopedic hospital. During the Great Patriotic War, according to some sources, an evacuation hospital operated here. During the years of Nazi occupation the building of the monastery hospital was damaged, but it was preserved. In 1946 it was restored and given to a children's oncology clinic. And in 1952 Bryansk regional skin and venereal dispensary moved here.
In 2016, the Peter and Paul Monastery was returned to the its historical buildings. The abbess of the monastery, Hegumess Elena, used church funds - donations from parishioners and funds from the Bryansk diocese - to do a tremendous amount of work to reconstruct the building. The roof and floor slabs were replaced, electrical wiring was done, autonomous heating and utilities were installed. The old building has found a second life. The rooms are located on the second floor. Here is made a modern beautiful repair, at home cozy and comfortable.
"We did everything with a soul, tried to think about every detail, so that people who want to find solace here for a while, really rested, they were comfortable and relaxed. We hope that we can help women who need it vitally. Thank you to everyone who helped, the repairs are being done with the parishioners' money. Of course, the Bryansk Diocese helped, this is a diocesan project. We will be happy to work further", - said the abbess of the Petropavlovsk Monastery, Abbess Elena (Bakhareva).
The center is small - designed for 9 people. Now the rooms are arranged for seven wards. Repair work and improvement of the "Home for Mom" continues. Every concerned person can take part in it good cause and do your part.
