On July 16-17, 2024, on the 106th anniversary of the execution of the Royal Family, memorial services were held in the city of Yekaterinburg and in the monastery at Ganina Yama.

The Bishops were served by: head of the Protocol Service Ekaterinburg Diocese Archpriest Nikolay Tarantin; chairman of the diocesan department for relations between the Church and society and the media, senior priest of the Church Monument on the Blood, Archpriest Maxim Minyaylo; head of the diocesan missionary department, Priest Daniel Ryabinin; Priest Pavel Starkov, head of the diocesan youth department and spiritual director of the St. Simeonov Orthodox Gymnasium; Hieromonk Kornilii Zaitsev, rector of the Ekaterinburg Theological Seminary; Hieromonk Kornilii Zaitsev, head of the Office of the Diocesan Missionary Department; and Synodal Department of Religious Education and Catechesis Hieromonk Simeon (Seregin); clergy of the Ekaterinburg Diocese.

The liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Yekaterinburg Theological Seminary under the direction of Anastasia Mukhlynina, a graduate of the Regent's Department.

In the afternoon in Yekaterinburg was held the traditional Small procession along the Yekaterinburg Way of Sorrow — places that preserve the memory of the Royal Passion-Bearers. One of the central events of the Tsar's Days united more than a thousand pilgrims, who came from different parts of the country, and city residents, including Sunday school students and volunteers of the Tsar's Days. The prayer procession was led by the head of the diocesan department of religious education and catechesis, Priest Andrei Shchukin, and other priests Ekaterinburg Metropolitan Church — clergy of parochial schools. At the cross at the Shartash railway station participants read the Akathist to the Royal Passion-Bearers, after which they went in procession along the route of the arrival of the Royal Passion-Bearers to the Church-Monument on the Blood with stops for a prayer service at the church of the icon of the Mother of God «Port-Arthurskaya» and the church of the Mother of God of the Power of God. The small procession ended with a prayer service in the Church-Monument on the Blood.

The Liturgy was prayed by hegumens and abbesses, monastics who came to honor the memory of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers.

The service was attended by the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk region L.V. Babushkina, Vice-Governor of the Sverdlovsk region O.L. Chemezov, Deputy Head of the region V.A. Chaynikov.

Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, who headed the Ekaterinburg diocese for 12 years, addressed the faithful before the Liturgy.

The Vice-Governor of the Sverdlovsk region O.L. Chemezov handed Metropolitan Eugene an ark with a piece of the Belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which will now be kept in Yekaterinburg (the medallion with a fragment of the Belt dates back to the first half of the XIX century, Italy; the relic was purchased by patrons of the arts).

Metropolitan Niphon welcomed the participants of the service and congratulated the head of the Ekaterinburg Metropolitanate on his namesake's day.

At the end of the service, Metropolitan Eugene invoked God's blessing on the participants of the Royal procession. At about three o'clock in the morning, the procession of thousands, led by the bishops, advanced to the monastery of the Royal Passion-Bearers at Ganina Yama. The faithful covered a distance of about 21 kilometers.

The procession was accompanied by ten mobile aid groups of the Orthodox Relief Service and volunteers of the Tsar's Days.

The faithful carried the ark with a part of the Belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the ark with relics of 14 saints of the Ekaterinburg Metropolis.

The prayer procession ended with a prayer service to the Royal Passion-Bearers at the mine number 7.

After the service, Metropolitan Evgeny and Metropolitan Vikenty thanked the faithful for their participation in the procession.
